Voixie Cast: change the voice in a video and keep the background
Voixie Cast replaces who is speaking in a video or audio file without translating it. It transcribes the speech, separates the speakers and lets you decide for each speaker whether to replace, keep or mute the voice. Replaced lines get a voice from the library or a clone of a sample you upload, while music, crowd noise and ambience from the original stay in the mix.
How to change a voice with Voixie Cast
- 1.
Add the recording and set the language
Upload a video or audio file up to 500 MB, or import a YouTube or Google Drive link. Choose the spoken language or leave it on automatic, and set the number of speakers if you know it. The language stays the same; use dubbing if you need a translation.
- 2.
Choose a voice for each speaker
For every detected speaker, choose whether to replace, keep or mute the voice. A replaced speaker can use a library voice or a clone made from a short sample you have the right to use; the clone is used for that job only and then deleted.
- 3.
Pick a mode and create the result
One mode converts the original delivery into the new voice and preserves its timing and emotion. The other reads the transcript in the new voice and fits it to the original timing, so lip movements may not match exactly. You get the video (or MP3) with the new voice over the original background, plus a voice-only track.
Voixie Cast questions
Is Voixie Cast the same as dubbing?
No. Dubbing translates speech into another language. Voixie Cast keeps the language and changes the voice, for example to replace a commentator or a narrator.
What happens to music and background sound?
The audio is split into voice and background. Only the lines you choose to replace are changed; music, crowd noise and ambience come back from the original. Loud music over the voice, or speakers talking at the same time, can make the result less clean.
How much does Voixie Cast cost?
5 credits per minute, billed in 15-second blocks. Failed or cancelled jobs are refunded automatically. Voixie Cast is in beta and requires a Voixie account.
