Multi-speaker dubbing: a separate voice for every speaker
Interviews, podcasts, panels and drama episodes have more than one voice. Voixie detects who is speaking on each line, gives every speaker their own dubbed voice and keeps the conversation timed to the picture. Automatic voices cover up to 10 speakers per video, and the price per minute is the same whether one person speaks or ten.
How multi-speaker dubbing works
- 1.
Speaker detection
Each line of the transcript is labelled with its speaker. Leave the number of speakers on automatic, or set it if you know it, which helps when voices are similar.
- 2.
A voice for each speaker
Every speaker gets their own voice, based on how they sound in the original or picked from the voice library. In the Studio you can move a line to another speaker, add a speaker or change one speaker's voice.
- 3.
Mix with the original scene
The dubbed lines are placed at their original times. Keep the music and sound effects (+3 credits/min) so the scene still sounds like the original.
Where it helps
- Interviews and podcasts on video: host and guest keep distinct voices.
- Drama and web series: dub episode after episode with a glossary for character names and saved voices for recurring characters.
- Panels and webinars: several speakers, one dub.
Limits to know
- Two people talking at the same time are hard to separate; check those lines in the Studio.
- Very short interjections may be assigned to the wrong speaker; you can reassign them.
- Automatic voices cover up to 10 speakers per video.

Frequently asked questions
How many speakers can Voixie dub in one video?
Up to 10 speakers per video get their own automatic voice. Lines are labelled by speaker, and you can correct the labels in the Studio before the voice is generated.
Does dubbing several speakers cost more?
No. Dubbing is 5 credits per minute of video (7 with Voice Match), whatever the number of speakers. Keeping the original background adds 3 credits per minute.
What happens when two people talk at once?
Overlapping speech is the hardest case: the lines may be merged or given to one speaker. Review those lines in the Studio and move them to the right speaker before generating.
Can a character keep the same voice across episodes?
Yes. Save a speaker's voice from the Studio and choose it for the same character in the next episode (paid plans with voice slots).
